Daughters of Italian Heritage Newest Cookbook published 12/16


Our new Cookbook, "From the Boot To the Boot", has a collection of 440 family recipes. It is divided into two distinctive sections. The Italy section is influenced by our ancestors from Italy and Sicily and the Texas section is influenced by our Southern heritage. The Italian and Sicilian sections also gives a brief history of the Saint Joseph Table celebrated in March.

First established by McIlhenny company in 1989, the TABASCO® Community Cookbook Awards were created to recognize the best of thousands of cookbooks published annually to generate funds for charitable causes while preserving America's rich culinary history.

Tuttuo Italiano was awarded with Special Merit honors for 2005!

Tutto Italiano contains about 200 family recipes and includes history of the St. Joseph Altar, Italian songs, Family Traditions, Common Italian Phrases, Food Glossary and a Italian Wine Directory.

A copy of the cookbook has been placed in the Walter S. McIlhenny Library of Community Cookbooks on Avery Island.
